| Grasdal is a small valley in the
mountains of Western Norway. Even to Norwegians who live in the city, it probably means a
place that is far away in the 'bush'. For those of us who live here, however, it means a
better place than most others. We waste less time going to and from our little 'city' than
people in urban areas would do. Plenty of fresh air, and lots of West- Norwegian weather
give us a healthier place to live than many other people enjoy. And remember, we never need
to wait for the 'green light' to cross our road because we don't have any traffic
lights! |
| Long ago, the word "Grasdal" described
something that the early people believed to be important. Grasdal means
"Grass-Valley". When this valley was first called "Grasdal" there may
have been more grass than other places in the area; now it is about the same. |
